Trip Highlights -
* Shibuya scramble crossing. This intersection is frequently recognized as “the busiest pedestrian intersection in the world” with almost no loss of foot traffic at midnight or early morning. Road traffic jams rarely occur here even during rush hours. According to the Shibuya Center Street in 2016, the number of pedestrians crossing the intersection was as much as 3,000 per green light (every 2 minutes).
We will also see The Hachiko Statue, honoring the most loyal dog in Japan
* Asakusa : District with an atmosphere of old Tokyo. Asakusa’s main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple, built in the 7th century.
Odaiba, along with Minato Mirai 21 in Yokohama, is one of the few manmade seashores in Tokyo Bay where the waterfront is accessible and not blocked by industry and harbor areas. Here we will see the replica of Statue of Liberty and visit the Aqua City Mall
Stay in Tokyo
* Hakone is one of the most popular destinations among Japanese and international tourists looking for a break from Tokyo. A ride on the Hakone Tozan Railway (箱根登山電車, Hakone Tozan Densha), Japan’s oldest mountain railway, is a treat for more than just railway fans. We will go to Owakudani, which is an active volcanic valley in the famed Hakone region west of Tokyo. It’s famous for its black eggs, which are boiled in the sulfurous waters to give the egg shells a distinctive color.
Shinjuku 3D cat : This is a transformation of digital signage into a destination. Passersby stop to watch a huge computer-generated calico cat wake up on the screen. The cat changes its activity as time passes through the day, as if the cat actually lives there.
* Akihabara is considered by many to be the centre of Japanese otaku culture, and is a major shopping district for video games, anime, manga, electronics and computer-related goods. Icons from popular anime and manga are displayed prominently on the shops.
Tokyo station is a magnificent red-brick facade, built in 1914. It gives way to a bustling underground city of train tracks, shops, and restaurants.
We will travel to Osaka from Tokyo by the famous Shinkansen – bullet train. Bullet trains serve Tokaido and Sanyo lines of the world-famous Shinkansen high-speed railway and boast a top speed of 300 km/h (185 mph), allowing you to travel from Tokyo to Osaka in a matter of just 2.5 hours!
* The Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is one of Kyoto’s top sights and for good reason: standing amid these soaring stalks of bamboo is like being in another world.
Kinkakuji temple : A must-visit exemplary temple for those traveling to Kyoto. A renowned Zen Buddhist temple with centuries of history, Rokuonji Temple is more widely known today as Kinkakuji Temple―a name derived from the famed Golden Pavilion (reliquary hall) that serves as the centerpiece of the temple grounds.
Situated atop a small mountain on the east side of Kyoto, Kiyomizu-dera temple offers a commanding view of the city. Kiyomizudera (literally “Pure Water Temple) is one of the most celebrated temples of Japan. It was founded in 780 on the site of the Otowa Waterfall in the wooded hills east of Kyoto and derives its name from the fall’s waters. The temple was originally associated with the Hosso sect, one of the oldest schools within Japanese Buddhism. Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizudera is the approach to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of the atmospheric Higashiyama District.
* Nara Park is one of the must-see areas in Nara City. The vast area covers 660 hectares and is renowned for its free-roaming deer. Nara’s over 1000 deer have become a symbol of the city and have even been designated as a natural treasure. Deer crackers are for sale around the park, and some deer have learned to bow to visitors to ask to be fed. Nara’s deer are surprisingly tame, although they can be aggressive if they think you will feed them, so make sure not to tease them with food.
Todaiji Temple with its 15m high Buddha is the most prestigious of Nara’s seven great temples and draws a steady stream of visitors. It is the head temple of the Kegon Sect of Buddhism.
* In Japan, onsen are hot springs and the bathing facilities. There are approximately 25,000 hot spring sources throughout Japan, and approximately 3,000 onsen establishments use naturally hot water from these geothermally heated springs.
